Do you need to have an overview of activities in your sales department? Do you want to read the email from the most important customer even before your sales manager does? You can have all the activities from CRM just on your desktop.

With Sprinx CRM RSS Gadget you can easily see last events and task from the CRM. With just one click the detail with all the important information is available.

The list of activities is generated on the CRM computer as a RSS feed. You can consume the feed using your favorite RSS Feed Reader on any computer that can access Sprinx CRM.

The installation consists of following steps:

1.       Obtaining Sprinx CRM RSS Gadget

2.       Installing Sprinx CRM RSS Gadget

3.       Testing the installation

4.       Obtaining RSS Reader (optional)

5.       Configuring RSS Reader

Download http://download.sprinx.cz/RSSGadget.zip or write into browser this address: http://www.sprinx.com go on Downloads section (in the top of the page) and click on the link RSSGadget.zip (see picture below). Then click on Save, choose a directory to save and remember it. After downloading completes go into the directory.

 

Open the downloaded ZIP file. Copy the RSSGadget folder into C:\Program Files\SPRINX\CRM Start\Web folder on the computer with Sprinx CRM. Versions different from Sprinx CRM Start C:\Program Files\Sprinx Systems\CRM\Web.

You can find out your version by executing Sprinx CRM web client and on the right side up you see Sprinx logo with the product name (or on the left side down you can see the product name) – picture, red highlight. Sprinx CRM Start is one-user version developed for trying some functions of full version and is pay-free. Avalaible at: http://download.sprinx.cz/SprinxCRMStartSetup.exe .

Open the web browser on the Sprinx CRM computer. Replace the address in the address bar with http://localhost/SprinxCRMStart/rssgadget/getlog.aspx .

We have successfully tested the RSS Gadget with following RSS Readers:

1.       Windows Vista Sidebar „Feed Headlines“ widget

2.       Google Desktop „RSS Feeds“ gadget

3.       Internet Explorer 7

4.       Outlook 2007

If you are looking for a free reader, you can download Google Desktop from http://desktop.google.com/ .

RSS Readers basically work with downloading RSS Feeds from different locations. All you have to do is to add the GetLog.aspx feed you have tested in „Testing the installation“. First of all you have to know the exact URL address of your CRM computer. Let’s open the Sprinx CRM and read the address in the address bar of Internet Explorer. Let’s say it looks like

The important part is the part ending before Cubix2, here http://crm.sprinx.cz/SprinxCRMStart/ . Open another browser and add rssgadget/getlog.aspx to the end of the URL get in the step before so it will look like http://crm.sprinx.cz/SprinxCRMStart/rssgadget/getlog.aspx . It should produce the list of activities.

You can use this URL ending with getlog.aspx as the URL of the Sprinx CRM RSS Feed. Copy URL to clipboard and click on the arrow in the RSS Reader window (picture below, yellow highlight) and add it into Reader by Add/Edit button & pasting from clipboard.
